How to Install and Configure Webmin on CentOS- 6.X

What is Webmin ?

Webmin is a web-based control panel for Linux System administrator . Using Webmin tool you can easily manage your Linux server graphically. you can create, manage user account, configure DNS , DHCP, Squid and share directory.
Users who are not much familiar with Linux command line interface, So this tool is perfect for them.

Server details:

Operating system: CentOS – 6.X
Server IP Address:  192.168.0.65
Hostname: server.example.com
Selinux : Disabled
Config file : /etc/webmin/miniserv.conf
Service :
Port no : 10000

Download Latest Webmin Package

# wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/webadmin/webmin-1.831-1.noarch.rpm

Install Webmin dependency first

# yum install perl-Net-SSLeay -y

Install rpm package

# rpm -ivh webmin-1.831-1.noarch.rpm

Preparing...                ########################################### [100%]
Operating system is CentOS Linux
1:webmin                 ########################################### [100%]
Webmin install complete. You can now login to https://server.example.com:10000/
as root with your root password.

Start Webmin Service

# service webmin start
# service webmin status
Webmin (pid 5230) is running

Now access Webmin in your favorite browser using below URL
http://server-ip-address:10000/
Username: root   (For Administrator)
Password: *******
